Every patient who calls gets an answer. Day and night.

After hours, over lunch and when every line is busy, Telani answers new-patient and insurance questions from your own information, books appointments, and leaves your team a short list instead of a voicemail box.

The calls that fill your chairs. Four everyday situations, from first ring to finished follow-up.

After hours and at lunch

New patients don't wait until morning.

  1. 1A new patient calls at 7 pm
  2. 2Telani answers from your hours, services and insurance list
  3. 3It books the visit in Telani's calendar
  4. 4Your team sees the booking in the morning

When every line is busy

Overflow goes to Telani, not to voicemail.

  1. 1Telani picks up the extra calls
  2. 2It answers what your information covers
  3. 3Anything else becomes a message with a name and number
  4. 4Urgent requests are flagged and listed first

Reminder calls

Fewer empty chairs, and less phone time for your team.

  1. 1You upload a list of patients to remind
  2. 2Telani calls each one with the reminder
  3. 3They confirm, or ask for another time
  4. 4In Telani's calendar, the visit moves to a real opening

Moving appointments

Real openings, offered on the spot.

  1. 1A patient calls about a different time
  2. 2Telani finds the booking made from their number and offers real openings
  3. 3In Telani's calendar, it moves while they're on the phone
  4. 4In the Open Dental pilot, it cancels the old visit and books the new one
Open Dental, in pilot
With one practice today: a small connector installed in the office lets Telani book 30-minute visits into Open Dental.
Urgent first
Telani is told to treat severe pain, facial swelling, a knocked-out or broken tooth, or bleeding that won't stop as urgent. Urgent requests are listed first for your team.
No guessing
Telani is told never to diagnose or recommend treatment, and to take a message instead. A price that isn't in your documents is blocked.

Measured, not claimed. One named pilot, one sourced figure, the controls that are on.

69%

of replies start within 2 seconds.

308 measured turns across 97 calls, last 90 days to 20 Oct 2026.

In use today

  • Retention and deletion you control

Questions.

Which practice systems does it work with?

Telani books into its own calendar, or takes appointment requests for your team to enter in your system. Booking straight into Open Dental is in pilot with one practice, through a small connector installed in the office; there, moving a visit means cancelling it and booking a new one. Tell us what you use and we'll talk it through.

Can it answer insurance and pricing questions?

Yes, from the information you add in the console. When something isn't there, it's told to take a message rather than guess, and a price that isn't in your information is blocked.

What about dental emergencies?

Telani is told to treat severe tooth pain, facial swelling, a knocked-out or broken tooth, or bleeding that won't stop as urgent and flag it for your team; urgent requests are listed first. It's instructed never to diagnose or recommend treatment. Write your emergency instructions into its prompt and it can read them out.

Will patients know it's not a person?

You choose how it introduces itself, including saying it's the office's automated assistant.
